A Rustic Romance: Capturing a Cornwall Wedding at the Family Farm
We loved capturing Emma and Adams’s Cornwall family farm wedding at their ancestral farm. This unique celebration took place in a transformed cowshed, surrounded by breathtaking views and a stunning sunset that left us in awe.
Arriving at the farm, I was greeted by rolling hills, lush greenery, and the sweet scent of wildflowers. The rustic cow barn, adorned with twinkling fairy lights, was the heart of the celebration. The couple, Emma and Adam, had chosen this idyllic location not only for its beauty but also for its significance; it is Emma’s family farm, filled with cherished memories and stories.
The couple’s family has spent months cleaning out one of the large cowsheds on the property and making it beautiful for the wedding. You’d never have known when you walked in on the wedding day. Other incredible moments include a giant beach chair for photos, a custom cocktail bar and a late-night neon-sign dance party well into the early hours of the morning. Not to mention the cornish pasty’s that was served at midnight.
Tips on planning a rustic Cornish farm wedding:
Keep the venue in mind when planning the logistics. Rural farm locations are stunning, but they can be tricky when getting items from A to B. Also, think about parking, vendor drop-offs and where guests are going to mingle.
Be mindful of the weather. When it rains in the countryside, things get muddy. You need to make sure that there is enough space for guests to spend their time away from the elements. Equally, if it’s very hot and sunny, you need plenty of shaded areas for your guests to enjoy their food and drinks.
Choose local vendors: if you are getting married somewhere rural and unique, consider who is around you. Local farmers and vendors can not only help make your wedding more authentic, but they will be the first people to give you the best local advice.
